Research Engineer I - Civil Engineer Michigan Tech Research Institute (Ann Arbor, MI)
The Research Scientist I – Civil Engineer position provides leadership and support for MTRI programs focused on the development and application of civil engineering to remote sensing and geospatial analysis research projects to solve governmental and societal needs. Familiarity with one or more technical and research areas such as CAD, digital twins, building information models, pavement condition assessment, traffic monitoring, programming, statistical analysis, asset management, and non-destructive evaluation (NDE) methods is needed. The applicant will be expected to develop, support, select, apply for, and lead research projects that apply their knowledge of civil engineering to research questions. The ability to improve the processing and analysis of remote sensing and NDE data through custom coding and analysis for infrastructure condition assessment will be important. Examples of current research areas include paved and unpaved road condition assessment with drones, developing digital twins for bridges, improving hydrological modeling inputs, identifying road surface types using remote sensing data, modeling flooding and scour risks to railways and bridges, automating assessment of rail grade crossing safety, modeling risks to power plants, developing web-based decision support systems, and improving water quality at wastewater treatment lagoons. Triage/Crisis Care Counselor Main Campus (Houghton, MI)

The triage/crisis care position is a clinical position requiring strong assessment and case management skills. The position will coordinate services for Michigan Tech students who present to the CSMHW for the first time to initiate counseling, or who are experiencing a mental health crisis.
Biological and Radiation Safety Officer Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Biological/Radiation Safety Officer manages Michigan Technological University’s biological and radiation safety programs to protect faculty, staff, students, members of the community, and the surrounding environment from potential exposure to harmful biological and radiological materials. The University currently has over 25 laboratories equipped for research at Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) and is licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) for the use and possession of radioactive materials, including but not limited to H3, C14, P32, S35, Ni63. As a member of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team, this individual will also contribute to the development and improvement of all other University safety programs.

STEM Success Coordinator Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Outreach and Retention Coordinator for NACME and S-STEM programs is a dynamic professional staff member in the Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI). This position is responsible for promoting and driving the mission of CDI to optimize the success of students from historically marginalized groups. CDI creates safe spaces for students from multiple social and cultural identities and cultivates a deeper understanding and appreciation of diversity, equity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging among the Michigan Tech community. The CDI engages in intentional outreach and program development that fosters belonging and retention, enabling academic thriving and graduation. Under the supervision of the director at the Center and secondary supervision from the PI of the Scholarships in Science Technology Engineering and Math (S-STEM) grant, the coordinator is responsible for implementing and assessing programs and events that align with the departmental and unit mission. This includes collaborating with program directors to deliver career and professional development opportunities, locally and nationally. The Coordinator will also provide outreach to new students, introducing them to Center resources and other supports across campus. The ideal individual must be committed to student-centered philosophy, engagement, and practices and be a strong collaborator. This position is partially funded through a grant from the National Science Foundation, which extends through the 2029-2030 academic year.

The Marketing Manager oversees the marketing team, which includes a full-time Assistant Marketing Manager and part-time student marketing employees. This individual will oversee the long-term marketing vision, lead the creation of the annual marketing plan, public relations, and direct marketing efforts for a diverse range of events including the Presenting Series of professional touring shows and the department-produced Michigan Tech Art, Michigan Tech Music, and Michigan Tech Theatre Series.
