STEM Success Coordinator Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Outreach and Retention Coordinator for NACME and S-STEM programs is a dynamic professional staff member in the Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI). This position is responsible for promoting and driving the mission of CDI to optimize the success of students from historically marginalized groups. CDI creates safe spaces for students from multiple social and cultural identities and cultivates a deeper understanding and appreciation of diversity, equity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging among the Michigan Tech community. The CDI engages in intentional outreach and program development that fosters belonging and retention, enabling academic thriving and graduation. Under the supervision of the director at the Center and secondary supervision from the PI of the Scholarships in Science Technology Engineering and Math (S-STEM) grant, the coordinator is responsible for implementing and assessing programs and events that align with the departmental and unit mission. This includes collaborating with program directors to deliver career and professional development opportunities, locally and nationally. The Coordinator will also provide outreach to new students, introducing them to Center resources and other supports across campus. The ideal individual must be committed to student-centered philosophy, engagement, and practices and be a strong collaborator. This position is partially funded through a grant from the National Science Foundation, which extends through the 2029-2030 academic year.
Student Disability Services Case Manager Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The case manager serves students with disabilities by determining appropriate academic accommodations. This position supports students by assisting them in identifying on and off campus resources, developing their ability to advocate for oneself, and navigating a rigorous academic community.
Residence Education Coordinator Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
As a member of the Residence Education and Housing Services team, the Residence Education Coordinator will assume a vital role in the residence life program for the growth of the individual through community living. The Residence Education Coordinator is responsible for providing and supporting student development and leadership, building community, and promoting learning in the residence halls.
