Summary

Serving as an integral link on Michigan Technological University’s admissions team, the Coordinator of Admissions Operations will play a critical part in optimizing the admissions process by leveraging technology. This individual will primarily focus attention on the optimization of our CRM system, Slate, and its vast array of capabilities and tentacles that impact various departments across campus. This individual will serve Michigan Tech alongside a dynamic staff whose primary goal is to build our annual incoming class through a very broad base of tactics and strategies.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

1. Serve as an integral member of the admissions operations team by focusing on leveraging technology to streamline the admissions process for Michigan Tech’s 10,000+ applications.
2. Optimize, continuously improve, and troubleshoot technical issues in the undergraduate application processes.
3. Leverage our CRM system, Slate, to better integrate its capabilities into Admissions operational processes and procedures.
4. Serve as the lead in identifying, troubleshooting, and correcting data integration and import errors between Slate and our student information system, Banner.
5. Identify efficiencies and implement internal improvements for application workflow and processing for the admissions process.
6. Along with the Associate Director of Operations in Enrollment, assist team members with internal training on Slate and admissions operations.
7. Work cross-functionally with Associate Director of Operations in Enrollment to assist in query writing for the recruitment team.
8. Manage current office procedure documentation and training manuals, and create new documentation as needed.
9. Serve as the point of contact for residency verification.
10. Serve as an integral part of our domestic application processing team, and serve as a backup to processing international applications.
11. Manage all aspects of the dual-enrollment process.
12. Assist with answering main admissions phone lines and responding to our general Admissions email, and serve as a backup for front office coverage.
13. Assist with on-campus recruitment events.
14. Commit to researching and staying up-to-date about information regarding Slate capabilities and updates on an ongoing basis.
15. Commit to continuously improving and thinking of outside-the-box solutions that would improve our admissions process.
16. Take an active role in staying current with Michigan Tech news, events facts, figures, degree programs, and related institutional information.
17. Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work.
18. Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Functional supervision over hourly student staff or work-study students may be required.

 

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures

● Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience

● Experience with CRM systems.
● Demonstrated experience with managing details.

Desirable Education and/or Experience

● Experience working in higher education admissions.
● Experience working within Banner.
● Experience and familiarity with higher education admissions policies and procedures.
● Experience working within Slate.

● Demonstrated ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
● Demonstrated ability to explain and convey complex information.
● Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work assignments independently in a complex work environment.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

● Experience using Google Suite.

Language, Mathematics and/or Reasoning Skills

 

Work Environment and/or Physical Demands

Some Evening and weekend work will be required.
The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
The work environment is that of a typical office setting.
