Responsibilities and Essential Duties • Reimagine and innovate the campus visit experience: this individual is responsible for stewarding the reimagination of Michigan Tech’s visit program in order to showcase the unique ethos of our university by highlighting what makes us distinctive—our culture, community, and academic excellence.o Develop and implement a visionary approach to campus visits, integrating emerging trends, technologies, and creative strategies to provide a world-class, personalized visitor experience.o Appropriately integrate current visit staff in vision, including supervision of Assistant Director of Campus Visit Experiences.• Design and Oversee Personalized Campus Visit Experienceso Develop tailored itineraries that align with the unique academic, extracurricular, and personal interests of prospective students and their families.o Ensure all visit programs highlight the institution’s strengths in academics, research, and campus culture.• Deliver High-Touch, Memorable Visitor Experienceso Facilitate warm and engaging interactions between prospective students, families, faculty, staff, and current students.o Provide VIP-level attention throughout the visit programo Curate moments of surprise and delight• Lead and Mentor the Student Ambassador Teamo Recruit, train, and manage a team of ambassadors to provide high-quality, detailed, and personalized campus tours and presentations.o Foster leadership and professional growth within the ambassador program.• Collaborate Across Campuso Partner with academic departments, auxiliary, and extracurricular organizations to provide a holistic view of opportunities available to prospective students.o Showcase programs and experiences that cater to the aspirations of exceptional students.• Maintain and Elevate Quality Standardso Gather and analyze visitor feedback to refine the campus visit program continuously.o Introduce innovative methods and strategies to ensure visits are customized and exceed visitor expectations.• Strategic Program Development and Executiono Understand and appropriately organize professional staff, student staff, and on-campus stakeholders to sustain this effort in an everlasting fashion. o Monitor trends and best practices in visitor engagement to ensure the campus visit program reflects institutional goals and the evolving needs of prospective students.• Manage large scale and group visits including Open House, Preview Day, Husky Visit Days.o Lead the committee based planning efforts of these large-scale recruitment initiatives.o Continuously strive for and understand efficiencies and quality opportunities to increase yield.o Serve as liaison between Admissions and Leading Scholar planning committee. • Assume day-to-day admissions responsibilitieso Manage visit presentation schedule.o Review and process applications for admission. o Take an active role in staying current with Michigan Tech news, events, facts, figures, degree programs, and related institutional information. • Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives.• Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work.• Other duties as assigned. Required Education, Certifications, Licensures ● Bachelor’s degree Required Experience ● 4 years experience in undergraduate admissions, higher education student services, customer service, sales or closely related area Desirable Education and/or Experience ● Master’s degree in Business, Higher Education/Student Affairs or related field● Experience in creating high touch visit experiences● 2 years of supervisory experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities ● Excellent oral communication, customer interaction, and interpersonal skills.● Demonstrated ability to be highly self-motivated, prioritize multiple tasks in a proactive manner, meet deadlines, and display attention to detail. ● Demonstrated ability to present in front of both small and larger groups.● Demonstrated ability to exude a friendly and warm personality to assist in making visitors feel welcome and valued. ● Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor student staff through ongoing training.● Demonstrated ability to give dynamic and engaging presentations to small and large groups. ● Willingness to travel on a limited basis throughout the region as needed. ● Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional nights and weekends.● Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to comply with Michigan Tech’s vehicle use requirements. ● Ability to use judgement when dealing with confidential information. ● Demonstrated commitment to contribute to a safe work environment.
