Summary

This position supports the Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Department (MMET) with excellent customer service to faulty, staff, students, and visitors. This position provides professional administrative and clerical support functions for the MMET department and requires the ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities and Essential Duties

  • Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner, independently respond to inquiries and provide information on established programs and services.
  • Greet customers, receive, screen, route and/or respond to telephone calls, MMET department emails, and other correspondence
  • Handle daily campus mail pick up and distribution. Send out UPS and FedEX packages.
  • Order and maintain office supplies.
  • Process check requests, purchase requisitions, invoices, banquet and entertainment forms .
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
  • Assist with special projects, events and department functions.
  • Serve as department’s equipment coordinator and track space usage information utilizing ASPIRE.
  • Assist in creating publications as needed.
  • Run reports using Banner, WebFocus and Digital Measures.
  • Assist with preparing travel arrangements and process travel reimbursements.
  • Maintain a departmental purchasing card and process Concur Reports.
  • Assist with maintaining the department’s final exam schedule, compiling course evaluations and course binder process.
  • Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work. Actively engage in the University’s continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures

• High school diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities were attained.

Required Experience

• One year experience in secretarial or administrative support
• One year experience in customer service
• One year experience using personal computers and basic software packages including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe

Desirable Education and/or Experience

• Experience using advanced features of word processing applications such as utilizing columns or tables, sorting, and mail merges
• Experience using advanced features of spreadsheet/database software
• Experience using Web Focus
