Senior Office Assistant Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Health Research Institute (HRI) at Michigan Technological University seeks to nurture, expand, and accelerate current research and outreach activities at Michigan Tech by establishing a nationally visible research hub, promoting on- and off-campus collaborations and upgrading research infrastructures, creating an environment that enhances the probability of securing external funding, and getting directly involved in community health and education issues by partnering with local health providers. With 59 members from 14 departments across campus, we are a thriving, cooperative research community. In addition to research, the Institute sponsors activities to improve community health, a student journal club, graduate fellowship programs, a faculty mentoring program, and several social and networking events throughout the academic year. The HRI is seeking a Senior Office Assistant to support the HRI Director, Institute Manager, members, and students. Applicants are expected to work independently and as part of a small team. Attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects, and flexibility are essential for the successful performance of this role.
Administrative Aide Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
This front-line position works independently to perform administrative and financial processes that contribute to the overall smooth operations of the Student Financial Services Center area, while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and professional. This position positively represents the University by providing outstanding customer service when responding to the needs of students, parents, faculty and staff, and external customers. Office Assistant Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Center for Teaching and Learning is seeking an Office Assistant to assist with proctoring exams and support the needs of the Michigan Tech Testing Center, either in person or online. This position will also be expected to complete additional training allowing them to proctor for sponsored exams. This is a 20 hours per week position with evening scheduled hours.
Custodian Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
Responsible for the performance of routine and special custodial duties in facilities and grounds as assigned. Work is performed in accordance with instructions and schedules provided, with results regularly inspected. Provide excellent customer service to a wide variety of internal and external customers.
Instructional Developer Main Campus (Houghton, MI)
The Instructional Developer works closely with CTL colleagues—such as instructional designers and educational technologists—and with the MTU instructional team to design and develop accessible high-quality instructional materials that enhance learning experiences in both face to face and online modalities. This role involves creating instructional resources, integrating educational technology tools, and ensuring all content meets ADA accessibility standards. The Instructional Developer also supports instructors by training them in best practices for effective technology use and regularly evaluates course materials for accessibility to optimize student engagement and learning outcomes. Additionally, this role serves as an expert on digital accessibility standards and emerging educational technologies to recommend tools that support teaching and learning innovation.
